TOPIC 8 – Daily Routines

Christopher (English US)

Jenny (English US)

  1. What do you like about your workplace or school?

Actually, I’m self-employed, and I like a lot of things about my job.

As I’m self-employed, I have independence and freedom from my routine, which I like most.

Secondly, I have golden chances to teach and meet people from all walks of life, which is really great. I also learn a lot from their experience as well.

  1. What is the first thing you do after you wake up?

I usually wake up at around 6 a.m., brush my teeth, and take a shower. Then I have breakfast with my husband.

After that, I post several questions regarding TOEIC on my fan page and in my group and answer any questions that they ask.

  1. Where do you usually go for lunch?

Actually, I have a lot of free time, so I cook and have lunch at home with my husband. Sometimes I go out to have lunch at my favorite restaurant with my husband or my friends.

  1. Who are the people that you meet with each week?

As I mentioned before, my job is as a TOEIC teacher, so I mostly meet my students and my husband every day. Sometimes, I have a small gathering with my friends too. Last week, we had a special meal at one of the best restaurants near my place.

  1. Why is it important to have some routines in life?

I reckon that keeping a daily routine helps me stay organized and focused, we can maximize our productivity by providing structure and a logical sequence in our lives, which helps me grow as an adult.

  1. Have you ever changed your routine over the past five years?

Actually, I teach mainly in the evening, so my daily schedule hasn’t changed a lot.

But sometimes, I also have some classes in the morning, so it is quite different from normal days because I have to prepare for morning classes by waking up and having breakfast earlier.

  1. If you could change one part of your daily routine, what would it be?/What would you like to change in your daily routine?

Spending too much time on my smartphone or watching TikTok has become my daily routine for the last several months, and I would really like to change it.

As this habit or routine doesn’t allow me to have enough sleep at the end of the night, and it’s really a waste of time.
