TOPIC 12 – ANIMALS

Christopher (English US)

Jenny (English US)

  1. What’s your favourite animal?

I am not exactly a “pet-friendly” person, but I absolutely love panda bears /ˈpændə//ber/ because of their black and white patterns, and their playful nature as well.

  1. Do you have a favorite flower?

Yes, absolutely. I’m really into flowers, and “rose” is my favourite flower, perhaps, because of their natural beauty and incredible colours.

Their vivid colors and pleasant smells help me get away from stress, and improve my mood.

Whenever I receive roses from my husband, I’m really excited and delighted.

  1. What kinds of animals do you usually see?

I normally see house pets like cats and dogs around my neighborhood, but I also see crows (con qua) and parrots /ˈpærət/ (con vet) several times.

  1. Where can you go to see animals?

Well, in my city, the zoo is definitely  a fantastic place to see animals. I absolutely love to go there to see various animals such as  dogs, tigers, elephants and so on. Aside from that, there are a lot of pet shops around the city where I can see various kinds of little creatures /ˈkriːtʃər/ like goldfish /ˈɡəʊldfɪʃ/, hamsters /ˈhæmstər/, parrots /ˈpærət and rabbits /ˈræbɪt/.

  1. Where can you go to see plants and trees?

Well, there’s  Cần Giờ Mangrove Forest  /ˈmænɡrəʊv/ quite far from my place, about 40km. I like to go there to see some greenery and see those beautiful plants, especially when I’m feeling a bit stressed or under pressure. It’s a good place to let off steam and get some fresh air.

  1. Have you ever been lost in a forest?

Fortunately, no. I’ve never been lost in a forest. But I heard that it’s a terrible feeling to be turned around in the forest, and it’s really easy to panic. In fact, whenever I go somewhere, I usually go with my husband, and he’s very good at navigating the roads, so I’m really not worried about being lost.

  1. If you could go to see plants and animals anywhere in the world, where would you go?

It is really tough to answer, as there are a variety of places in the world to explore.

If I could, I would like to go to Phu Quoc National Park. There is a jungle, full of colorful plants that gathers thousands of species, like exotic birds, unique animals, and so on.

I’m also considering going to Phu Quoc in two months with my husband.
