ANSWER
I am really into traveling, as I consider it the best way to socialize with people from all walks of life, enjoy specialties, and go sightseeing. More importantly, it provides countless golden opportunities to enrich my knowledge and unwind after long days at work. I have been to many magnificent places and exhilarating cities in my country, but Da Lat City in Lam Dong is at the top of my list.
Da Lat is renowned as a premier destination for tourists, especially for those seeking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. Prior to visiting Da Lat, I didn’t know much about it. However, one of my close friends highly recommended this city to me. She travels to Da Lat several times a year and truly enjoys it, which arouses my curiosity. That’s why my husband and I planned a trip there five years ago.
There are numerous reasons why I find this city intriguing and appealing. Da Lat is known as “the city of a thousand flowers. Throughout the year, but particularly in February, a wide variety of flowers bloom, showcasing vibrant colors like red, yellow, orange, pink, and even blue, along with their various shades. Hydrangeas, orchids, roses, and many other flowers make this city a floral kingdom.
The park’s arched gate is naturally decorated with colorful flowers, and the paths are lined with fountains and pine trees. What struck me most is the local people in this city; they are genuinely hospitable and kind, and the weather is wonderful.
In my opinion, Da Lat is the city that has enlightened me on many aspects of life, and the memories I have created there are invaluable treasures. This city is truly remarkable in several ways. If I were to summarize my travel experiences there over the years, I would say the natural beauty is superb, the people are friendly, and the scenery is breathtaking.

Why do some people like to visit historical places?
From my perspective, tourists go to historic spots to learn or gain knowledge about the past, the way of life of the people in the past, their culture, their roots, and the architecture.
Why do people go to modern cities?
In my humble opinion, people come to metropolitan areas for a variety of reasons.
Firstly, modern cities are often economic hubs with a wide range of job opportunities across various industries. People migrate to cities in search of better employment prospects, higher salaries, and career advancement.
Secondly, cities are home to renowned educational institutions such as universities, colleges, and research centers. People move to cities to access quality education and expand their knowledge and skills.
Moreover, cultural and recreational amenities: Cities offer a vibrant cultural scene with theaters, museums, art galleries, music venues, and other entertainment options. People are drawn to cities to immerse themselves in diverse cultural experiences, attend events, and enjoy recreational activities.
Last but not least, modern cities tend to have well-developed infrastructure, including efficient transportation systems, healthcare facilities, shopping centers, and public services.
What are the problems caused by maintaining a historical city?
From my perspective, while preserving the historical and cultural heritage of a city is important, it can bring its own set of challenges and issues.
Firstly, regarding aging infrastructure, historical cities often have infrastructure that is outdated and not equipped to handle modern needs. Maintaining and upgrading infrastructure, such as roads, bridges, and utilities, can be challenging due to the constraints of preserving the historical character of the city.
Secondly, cities of history are located in narrow streets with dense populations. As a result, overcrowding can become a problem, leading to increased pressure on housing, transportation, and public amenities.
Moreover, cities with a long history may lack modern facilities and amenities that are essential for contemporary living.
Last but not least, maintaining historical buildings and structures can be expensive. The cost of preserving, restoring, and maintaining historical architecture and infrastructure can be a financial burden for both the city and property owners.
Do you think having too many tourists is a positive thing for historical attractions?
No, I don’t think so. I believe that too many tourists will lead to pollution and also affect the upkeep of historical sites. Such sites need a lot of care and maintenance, and limiting the number of visitors to such sites can help maintain them, prevent damage to such sites, and also sustain tourism.
What can we do to stop visitors from damaging historical places?
Personally speaking, to prevent the damage to historical places caused by visitors to such places, many measures can be taken.
There should be strict punishments, like high fines, for people who try to cause harm. There should be security personnel employed to ensure that no one tries to damage the historical places, and along with that, there should be security cameras installed to monitor the activities of the tourists.
Lastly, there can be tourist guides appointed who can also ensure that no one causes any damage.
Do you think too many tourists are a positive thing for historical attractions?
In my opinion, having too many tourists has both advantages and disadvantages.
On the one hand, it ensures that our traditions and cultural heritage are passed on to future generations.
Tourism also generates significant revenue for local communities, businesses, and governments. The money generated from tourism can be used for the maintenance, restoration, and preservation of historical attractions, contributing to their long-term sustainability.
Moreover, tourism can create job opportunities for local residents, both directly in the tourism industry and indirectly in related sectors such as hospitality, transportation, and retail. This can help improve the local economy and provide livelihoods for communities.
It brings revenue and business to the people of the city where the historical attraction is.
On the other hand, excessive tourist numbers can strain historical sites, leading to overcrowding, wear and tear, and damage to fragile structures. Foot traffic, pollution, and improper visitor behavior can degrade the attractions.
In addition, tourism can have negative environmental effects, such as increased waste generation, energy consumption, and pollution.
Last but not least, high volumes of tourists can disrupt the daily lives of local residents, affecting their quality of life.
Why do some young people like to live in cities?
Generally speaking, urban areas come with a variety of opportunities for youth, including career advancement, personal development, and enjoyment.
Young people are often very energetic and dynamic. Therefore, they are eager to achieve their goals and enjoy their lives to the fullest.
Cities offer them a chance to simultaneously advance their careers as well as experience their lives in the most comfortable and enjoyable way.
Do most elderly people live in the city or in the countryside?
Based on my observation, the majority of senior citizens reside in rural areas instead of in large metropolises.
Many elderly people prefer the tranquility and slower pace of life that rural areas often provide. The countryside can offer a closer connection to nature and a sense of community.
In addition, rural areas may have a lower cost of living compared to cities, which can be beneficial for elderly individuals living on fixed incomes.
Last but not least, elderly people who have spent their lives in rural areas may have deep-rooted connections to their communities, including family, friends, and neighbors, which can be a strong incentive to remain in the countryside.
For all of these reasons, I guess old people are more into country life.
